The India cricket team broke out the joyful news right after clinching the four-match T20I 3-1 in South Africa on Friday, November 15, that India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma welcomed his second child with wife Ritika Sajdeh.
After crushing South Africa by 135 runs in the fourth and final T20I match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on their official website featuring the centurions of the Johannesburg match, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and the T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

It was a day of celebration for the Indian cricket team, and the joy was just unmissable, as the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning captain, Rohit Sharma, became a father for the second time. Just after the final T20I game at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium, the players gathered when Suryakumar Yadav shared the joyful news that left everyone glowing with smiles.

Suryakumar confirmed that Rohit Sharma welcomed a baby boy into the world. The Indian skipper even asked his teammates to share their message for the Hitman and his family.
Suryakumar said in the BCCI video: “As we got to know today, just after the game, that Rohit has a baby boy. What message would you like to give him? Both of you, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma.”

The first to react was Tilak Varma, who could hardly contain his excitement. The young batting sensation expressed how thrilled he was for Rohit, saying that he had been eagerly waiting for this moment.
He even joked that if the baby had arrived a day or two later, he would have been the one to visit first. Tilak’s playful words made everyone chuckle, but he was genuinely overjoyed for his captain. Suryakumar, ever the fun-loving man, couldn't help but laugh at Tilak’s excitement.
He teased, wondering if Tilak was trying to make him cry with all his happiness. Tilak said in the video, “Really, really very happy, Rohit Bhai. We were waiting for this moment. If one or two days were late, I would have reached there. I am coming to see you soon. I am very, very excited.”

To which Suryakumar said before bursting out in laughter, “Are you making me cry?” Meanwhile, Sanju Samson also expressed his heartfelt happiness for Rohit Sharma and his family. Samson said in the same video: “Very, very happy for Cheta and his family. Super, super happy.”
But it was Suryakumar Yadav who ended the conversation with a playful twist. With a wide grin, the Indian captain said that it was time to get ready for the arrival of a "new cricketer." He joked about preparing a tiny sidearm and small pad for the newborn, saying the little one is destined for the cricket field.
As the laughter continued, Suryakumar signed off by saying, “I think we will have to get ready now. A small sidearm and small pads. A new cricketer has arrived.”
