India National Cricket Team T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav will be playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 for Mumbai. As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that the batter, however, won't be available for the initial phase of the tournament.

The reports in the Times of India claimed that Suryakumar will be unavailable for the first phase of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 due to personal reasons. The Indian T20I captain will be returning to play in the last few games and will also feature in the knockouts if Mumbai qualify for the further stage.

The source close to the developments claimed that Suryakumar will be available from early December. Speaking to Times of India, a source in the Mumbai Cricket Association, said:

“Yes, SKY will not be available for the first few games of SMAT. He will return to action for the last few league games (in early December), and the knockouts."
