India captain Suryakumar Yadav has pleaded 'not guilty' at the ICC hearing in Dubai after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lodged a complaint against him for his post-match comments on September 14.
The star batsman's comments came after India thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets in the group stage match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
India vs Pakistan tensions run high
Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Suryakumar Yadav had dedicated the win to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack while also expressing solidarity with the armed forces.
"Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity... Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery," Suryakumar Yadav had said during the post-match presentation.
Apart from comments, Suryakumar had also decided against shaking hands with his Pakistani counterpart, Salman Agha, at the toss. The entire Indian team also did not shake hands with Pakistan at the end of the match, leaving PCB furious.
The PCB threatened to pull out of the tournament if match referee Andy Pycroft was not removed. However, their demand was turned down by the ICC. After targeting Pycroft, the PCB decided to lodge a complaint against Suryakumar for his comments.
