Indian pace-bowling sensation T Natarajan has expressed his gratitude towards renowned businessman Anand Mahindra for receiving the THAR SUV as a gift for his performances during the historic tour of Australia.

Following Team India’s monumental Test series win in Australia earlier this year, Anand Mahindra had taken to his official Twitter account to announce that he will be gifting a THAR SUV to the likes of Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini and T Natarajan for their stellar performances in their maiden tryst with international cricket.

”Six young men made their debuts in the recent historic series #INDvAUS (Shardul’s 1 earlier appearance was short-lived due to injury)They’ve made it possible for future generations of youth in India to dream & Explore the Impossible (1/3),” Anand Mahindra had tweeted back in January.

Theirs are true ‘Rise’ stories; overcoming daunting odds in the pursuit of excellence. They serve as an inspiration in all arenas of life. It gives me great personal pleasure to gift each of these debutants an All New THAR SUV on my own account—at no expense to the company. (2/3),” he added.

The reason for this gift is to exhort young people to believe in themselves & ‘Take the road less traveled.’ Bravo Mohammed, Shardul, Shubhman,Natarajan,Navdeep & Washington! I now plead with @Mahindra_Auto to get them their THARS on priority. (3/3) he said.

And, on Thursday [April 01], upon receiving the car, T Natarajan took to his official Instagram account to not only express his gratitude towards Anand Mahindra but also return the favor by gifting him his signed shirt from the Gabba Test.

”As I drive the beautiful @mahindrathar home today, I feel immense gratitude towards Shri #anandmahindra for recognising my journey & for his appreciation. I trust that given Mr.Anand Mahindra’s love for cricket, he will find this signed shirt of mine from the #Gabba Test, meaningful! #cricket #mahindrathar #gratitude,” wrote T Natarajan.

It has been a fairytale last seven months for the left-arm pacer T Natarajan. After having impressed with his ability to nail yorkers at will, in IPL 2020, the Chinnappampatti pacer earned a call-up to the Indian T20I squad for the series in Australia after Varun Chakravarthy got ruled out due to injury.

But as luck would have it, Natarajan got a chance to make his ODI debut before his T20I debut as he was added to the Indian 50-over squad as a cover for Navdeep Saini. The pacer impressed in the lone ODI and in the T20I series that followed and was held back as a net bowler for the Test series that followed.

With the Indian pacers falling like nine pins during the first three Tests, T Natarajan earned his maiden Test call-up for what turned out to be a historic match at the Gabba as India went on to not only win the Test but also the series by a margin of 2-1.

Natarajan recently featured in the T20I and ODI series against England and while he did not have the best of times for the majority of those matches, he signed off the international season brilliantly courtesy an outstanding final over against a rampaging Sam Curran to help India win the match and the series 2-1.
