Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer was very much interested in having the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the best players in the world speak to his teammates in the dressing room. Scotland are mathematically are out of the race for the playoffs spot after losing three games in the T20 World cup 2021 but still, they have two games where they can show their potential.

They put up a close fight against New Zealand yesterday in their previous game and almost pulled off a thriller of a game. They got close to the total needing just 16 runs in the end. Their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 might have been over, but they can improve a lot by playing against the big teams.

“That Is The Only And Best Way To Learn” – Kyle Coetzer

Kyle Coetzer felt that having world-class players like Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, or Rashid Khan in the dressing room for a chat would definitely benefit them in the longer run. He added it could change their game totally and they will learn a lot from speaking with these players.

“We would, they are excellent ambassadors of the game. We want our guys to speak to them, be it Kohli or Williamson or Rashid Khan. That is the only and best way to learn. We used to be able to do it in the pubs before, but now we cannot,” Kyle Coetzer told on the post-match conference.

Kyle Coetzer Feels Scotland Have Come A Long Way

Kyle Coetzer felt that Scotland still has a lot to offer and will get better with experience of playing high profile countries in group 2 and group A. He added that it is a big achievement to be ranked 12th in the world in terms of T20I format.

“The squad will learn from every experience. To get to play against the likes of India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh is just brilliant. It is a good experience playing against the best at the top level.

“The guys will come away with a lot more life experiences, not just cricket experiences. We are ranked 12th in the world and while some people may talk about the gulf, but I believe it is a good achievement,” he added
