Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani addressed the team in the dressing room following MI's loss to Lucknow Super Giants in their last IPL 2024 league match.

The dressing room consisted of all the Mumbai Indians players from Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav to Gerald Coetzee. While Nita Ambani was talking about the team's IPL 2024 season, every single player had a blank facial reaction as all of them looked highly disappointed with the kind of season they had.

The 5-time champions missed out on finishing in the top 4 for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons and that's definitely something unlike the MI way. It was for the first time since 2022 that Mumbai won just 4 games in the season and lost a total of 10 games to finish at the bottom of the table after the Punjab Kings.

What did Nita Ambani say?

Nita Ambani started off her speech admitting that she is also as disappointed as the players for the season that Mumbai Indians went through. But despite things not going their way, Ambani claimed that she is still a very big MI fan and that she is not confined to being just the owner.

That wearing the blue MI jersey is a huge honour and privilege for her. She then revealed the team management and the owners will get back to review the season and think about the future.

"Disappointing season for all of us. Things didn't go the way we wanted them to, but I'm still a huge Mumbai Indians fan. Not just an owner. I think to wear the Mumbai Indians jersey is a huge honour and a privilege, and to be associated with Mumbai Indians, for me, is an honour and a privilege. I think, we will go back, review and think about it." - Nita Ambani said.

Hardik Pandya, who replaced Rohit Sharma as the new Mumbai captain this season, was looking downwards in sheer grief during Nita Ambani's address. The expressions were similar on the faces of Coetzee, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis among others.

Nita Ambani sends best wishes to Rohit, Hardik, Surya and Bumrah for the T20 World Cup

Before concluding, Nita Ambani gave best wishes to all the players in the team - local and foreign, for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 next month. The latest edition of the shortest format's WC is set to kick off from June 1 onwards in the USA and West Indies with most of the MI players set to represent their countries.

After giving best wishes overall, Nita Ambani made special mentions to key India players - Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. The pillars of this MI team are also the pillars of team India and therefore, Ambani said that all the Indian fans will be cheering for them at the World Cup.

"But at this moment, many of us have a path forward which the world is going to look at. So I wish everyone here, who is participating in the World Cup and representing their countries, all the very best. To Rohit, Hardik, Surya and Bumrah, I think all the Indians are cheering for you. All the very best." - Nita Ambani concluded.
