India captain Rohit Sharma opened up playing under the leadership of Hardik Pandya for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He stated that it isn't something new for him because he has played under a lot of captains.

Since the last one decade, it has been for the first time that Rohit has been playing as the only batter in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The opening batter was captain of Mumbai Indians since 2013 but ahead of the 2024, he was removed as the skipper.

Mumbai Indians gave a leadership role to Hardik Pandya, who was traded from Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2024. This came as a surprise to many because Rohit Sharma has been nothing short of exceptional as a leader in IPL and also guided the team to the 5 titles.

Many fans expressed their disappointment with the way Mumbai Indians treated the senior opener and also there were some reports which claimed that Rohit Sharma wasn't even informed by the team management before he was removed as the leader of the team in the IPL.

During the press conference ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma was asked about not playing IPL as captain and then playing as captain in T20 World Cup 2024. Replying to his, he stated that it's all part of life and whatever is there, he has accepted. He stated:

"I was captain. Not being captain and then again captain. It's part of life. Not everything will go your way. It's been a great experience. Before in my life, I was also not the captain and played under different captains. It's nothing new to me. I have always tried to do what's required as a player and I have tried to do that in the last 1 month."

Rohit Sharma will be captaining the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024. The batter will be captaining Hardik Pandya as well. He will have a great responsibility as the skipper and will be hoping to end the title drought for the India National Cricket Team.
