T20 World Cup 2024: PCB to suspend entire selection committee? Mohsin Naqvi angry at Pakistan selectors

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is reportedly unhappy with the selection process of the selectors for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. 

This news is coming days after the 1st T20I between England and Pakistan was washed out due to extreme weather conditions. The PCB is yet to announce the National team's official 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. They are currently one of those teams which has not disclosed their squad yet. 

Why is Mohsin Naqvi unhappy with the selection process for the T20 World Cup? 

According to reports all the way from Pakistan, the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is very unhappy with the selection process of the chief selection committee. The selectors have apparently not taken up the right process to select the 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 and that has not landed well with Naqvi. 

Mohsin Naqvi is reportedly unhappy and annoyed with the selection process of the panel and has reportedly asked the selection committee to stop their process. Naqvi has asked for a clear-cut explanation from the selection panel as to what kind of a process they are following to pick the players for the WC. 

Until then, the selection committee will have to come up with an answer for their selection process. With less than a week to go before the T20 World Cup, this news comes as a shocker and depicts exactly what the cricketing condition of Pakistan is going through.

In such a condition, the board cannot hope for the team to win the World Cup when the core selection committee is not capable enough. Earlier this month, the Men in Green had lost a match to Ireland in a 3-match T20I series before staging a comeback and winning the series. Now they are gearing up to face England in the last 3 T20Is after the first match got washed out.

The real reason behind Mohsin Naqvi's disapproval of the selection committee is the lack of coordination between the members. According to the same report, not each and every member of the panel has come to an agreement for the squad selection. All the 7 selectors are not in sync and that has actually got Mohsin Naqvi frustrated. 

According to some reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board will be announcing the squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 tonight. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be played in the month of June and it will be hosted by the West Indies and the USA. Pakistan National Cricket Team will be aiming to finally clinch the title after falling short in the last two editions.
