T20 World Cup 2024: South Africa jersey for ICC tournament revealed

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revealed a new jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA) in June. Cricket South Africa unveiled the team kit on their official social media handle on Sunday, April 28.

South Africa has struggled in the T20 World Cup and never reached the final match. The team was in contention until the last game of the previous tournament. However, they suffered a surprising loss to the Netherlands, leading to their elimination from the competition in Australia.

South African players like Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs are in red-hot form, along with Kagiso Rabada and Aiden Markram. The Proteas are confident of clinching their maiden World Cup trophy in 2024. The players are currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Cricket South Africa took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to release their national kit for the upcoming ICC tournament. The new World Cup jersey was showcased during the innings break of the CSA T20 challenge at The Wanderers. The replica kits will soon be available for fans.

The South African jersey design incorporates cultural and ethnic elements with traditional green and yellow colors. The primarily yellow jersey features the national flag colors on the shoulders. The South African national flower, the King Protea, is also displayed on the jersey.

South Africa is among the first to unveil its jersey for the ICC tournament scheduled for June this year. New Zealand also revealed their jersey on Monday, April 29th.

South Africa's schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024

South Africa is in Group D for the 2024 T20 World Cup alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Nepal. They will play three of their four group-stage matches at Eisenhower Park in New York. They will kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka on Monday, June 3.

The South African cricket team will face the Netherlands and Bangladesh on June 8 and 10, respectively. Their final group match against Nepal will take place in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on June 14. Aiden Markram is set to lead the team in the marquee tournament.
