Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif picked his Team India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been in the golden touch with the ball in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, failed to find a place in the team.

Mohammad Kaif picked Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma as the two openers in his team for the T20 World Cup 2024. The duo has been in terrific touch with the bat in the IPL 2024. While the captain has amassed over 300 runs, Jaiswal scored a sensational century in the last over.

Kaif then went on to pick Virat Kohli as the No.3 batter in the team. The batter has been in the red hot form in the ongoing IPL for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He is the leading run-getter in the tournament with over 400 runs to his name and is so far only the batter in the league who has got past the 400-run mark in the league.

Suryakumar Yadav also found a place in Mohammad Kaif's team at No.4. The Mumbai Indians batter made a return to cricket after injury through the IPL and so far has been decent with the bat, having notched up two half-centuries for the Mumbai Indians in the league.

Mohammad Kaif then went on to pick Rishabh Pant as the keeper-batter in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. There have been a lot of debates about the keeper's spot in the team with KL Rahul, and Sanju Samson going great guns as well in the IPL 2024.

But Rishabh Pant has by far looked the best among them all. The Delhi Capitals skipper has over 340 runs to his name and reports have suggested that the keeper-batter will be the first-choice keeper. Mohammad Kaif then picked Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja as three all-rounders.

Along with Axar and Jadeja, Kaif picked Kuldeep Yadav as the third spinner in the team. He believes that the team should play all three of them in the XI as pitches in the United States of America and the Caribbean are slow and he also stated that India should have batting till No.8 in the tournament.

Mohammad Kaif then went on to pick Sandeep Sharma, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, and KL Rahul as the other four players in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. All the players have been in the sensational touch in the IPL and are one of the main reasons behind their team's success in the league.

According to Mohammad Kaif, India should also have three reserve players in Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Sanju Samson. The Rajasthan Royals' spinner omission from the team came as a surprise as the leg-spinner has been nothing short of exceptional in the IPL.

Yuzvendra Chahal is the joint-leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2024. The leg-spinner has been extremely unfortunate as he missed out on the team from the last two World Cups as well.
