The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin from 7th February 2026. This will be the 10th edition of the competition. ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2026 Format Explained

The 20 teams have been divided into four groups with five teams in each group. It follows the same format as it did in the previous edition of the tournament. All the sides will be facing their teams once in their group, with each side playing four games in the group.

The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8s. It will also be divided into two groups of four, with eight sides divided as per the top 8 rankings. In the Super 8 stage, each team will play the other teams in their respective groups in a round-robin format, with the top two from each group progressing to the semifinals.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Venues & Host Cities

The competition will take place at five stadiums in India and three in Sri Lanka. The ICC has confirmed the stadiums for all the fixtures, except for the one semifinal and the final.

If India advances to the semifinals, they will play in the second round at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and if Pakistan makes it to the last four, their match will be played on March 4 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The 2026 Men's T20 World Cup begins on February 7 at 11 AM IST, with Pakistan against the Netherlands in Colombo. It is one of three games on the opening day, with the West Indies facing Scotland at 3 PM and India facing the United States at 7 PM.

The Phase I ticket sales for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup began on December 11, with prices starting at INR 100 in India (about $1.11) and LKR 1000 in Sri Lanka (roughly $3.26).
The first phase saw almost 2 million tickets go on sale. The second phase went live on January 14th 2026.
