Tamil Nadu Young Batter Narayan Jagadeesan Equals Virat Kohli's Record In Vijay Hazare Trophy With Fourth Century Of The Season After Being Released By CSK

Narayan Jagadeesan has equalled Virat Kohli’s record of four centuries in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT). The Tamil Nadu batter scored 128 runs in 123 balls to help his team reach a challenging score of 285 in 50 overs.
The 26-year-old and his opening partner, Sai Sudharsan, who scored a half-century, put on a 151-run partnership for the first wicket. In response, Haryana could only manage 133 runs for the loss of 10 wickets, as Tamil Nadu comprehensively defeated Haryana by 151 runs.
India’s star batsman Virat Kohli was the top scorer with a total of 534 runs and four centuries (102, 119*, 124, 114) in the 2008-09 season. The 26-year-old has been in fantastic form and is currently leading the scoring charts at the Vijay Hazare Trophy, joining the former India captain on a list that also includes Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prithvi Shaw, and Devdutt Padikkal.
Jagadeesan is also the highest run-scorer in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 522 runs scored in five matches at a sublime average of 130.50 and a high score of 168.
The right-handed batter became the fourth player in List A history to achieve four consecutive centuries, joining Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, South Africa’s Alviro Pietersen, and Devdutt Padikkal. Previously, the Tamil Nadu batter had centuries against Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa.
Narayan Jagadeesan has scored 1782 runs in 41 List A matches at an average of 44.55, including seven centuries and six half-centuries. He represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and he scored 73 runs in seven matches. He was among the eight players released by CSK recently. Apart from him, KM Asif, Adam Milne, Chris Jordan, Robin Uthappa, Hari Nishaanth, Bhagath Varma, and Dwayne Bravo were released by the franchise.
