Former Pakistani cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has strongly reacted to the Shad Masood-led Pakistan cricket team’s humiliating 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the first Test of the ongoing two-match Test series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, August 25.

In a shocking way, Pakistan's batting lineup crumbled spectacularly in the second inning, as they were bowled out for just 146 runs against Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi bowlers unleashed a relentless assault, leaving Pakistan's batters in tatters during the second innings.

The debacle has sparked outrage among fans and cricket experts, with many questioning the commitment and preparation of the Pakistan team for the ongoing home Test series against the Tigers.

Tanvir Ahmed was among the critics, who are labeling Pakistan’s performance as disgraceful, emphasizing that the lack of hard work and discipline has led to this embarrassing downfall.

This devastating collapse was nothing short of disgraceful, exposing serious cracks in Pakistan’s strategies and discipline. Following the hosts’ lackluster display, the former Pakistani pacer Tanvir Ahmed raised questions about the team's commitment and readiness for the Bangladesh Tests.

Taking to his social media handle, Tanvir Ahmed has pointed out that this is a shameful defeat since Pakistan is playing a home series; despite this fact, the Bangladesh bowlers destroyed the hosts in great fashion. Tanvir Ahmed blamed the lack of hard work and preparation for the embarrassing defeat in Rawalpindi.

Tanvir Ahmed posted on X: “Pakistan home series khail raha ha or Bangladesh ki team k bowler's ney 2nd innings main humari batting ki watt laga de ha isko boltey hain mehnat kia hoti ha sharam karo yar. Pakistan is playing a domestic series, and in the second innings, the Bangladeshi bowlers have completely dismantled our batting. This is what happens when you don’t put in the hard work. It’s disgraceful!)”

Meanwhile, this marked Bangladesh's first victory over Pakistan in 14 Test matches. With this win, India and South Africa are now the only teams Bangladesh have not yet defeated in Test cricket. Additionally, this is the first time Pakistan has suffered a 10-wicket defeat in a home Test, including games played in the UAE.

After losing the first Test, Pakistan captain Masood said: “Never to make an excuse, it (the pitch) didn't play the way we thought it would."

They will now face each other in the second and final Test at the same venue in Rawalpindi from August 30. After the Pakistan tour, Bangladesh will travel to India for a two-match Test series.
