Bangladesh National Cricket Team have faced a major blow ahead of the first Test against Pakistan National Cricket Team. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the first game, which will take place from the 21st of August at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

As per the reports in Geo News, it is learned that Taskin Ahmed won't be available for the selection for the first Test as he will be playing for the Bangladesh A team. The fast bowler will be featured in the four-day game against Pakistan Shaheens, which will be played from 21st August.

Premier pacer Taskin Ahmed will be available for selection from the second Test. This is because team management wants him to get some game time before making a comeback to the Test team, having missed a lot of action due to the injury.

The pacer has been dealing with a shoulder injury for a while, and this has kept him away from the longest format of the game. Ahmed hasn't featured for the team in the longest format of the game since June last year. He has been part of the team in white-ball format.

Ahmed, despite battling a shoulder injury, has been featured for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in white-ball cricket. He played for the team in the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies in June, but with the Test requiring more physical endurance, he hasn't featured in the longest format of the game.

Before Bangladesh's departure to Pakistan, all the players underwent a fitness Test. Taskin Ahmed was also part of it and was monitored closely by the Bangladesh Cricket Board physio Bayjedul, who had a special eye on the pacer ahead of the squad announcement.

BCB physio, after the fitness test, stated that Taskin Ahmed will be playing the Test series even though he has an injury. He mentioned that the pacer can manage injury if he continues his rehabilitation and the workout and if the pacer feels good, he will be featuring for the team in Tests.

After playing for the Bangladesh A, he is likey to play in the second Test, which will be played at the same venue from 30th August. He would be keen to make an impact in the A squad and then help the main team.

On the other hand, the Pakistan National Cricket Team have announced their playing XI for the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. They have named four fast bowlers in the team with Salman Ali Agha being the spin bowling all-rounder in the team.

Also, Mohammad Rizwan has been preferred to play over Sarfaraz Ahmed. Saim Ayub also has retained his place in the team and will be opening the innings with Abdullah Shafique. Shan Masood, Babar Azam, and Saud Shakeel will bat in the middle, while Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, and Mohammad Ali will be the four pacers.
