There is some good news for Team India and the Indian fans as the team is set to reach Delhi on July 3 (Wednesday). After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa, the team has been stuck in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl hitting the region. BCCI secretary Jay Shah and his team are also there in Barbados currently.

The first hurricane (Beryl) of the 2024 Atlantic season has hit the Caribbean island of Carriacou. Barbados, Grenada, Tobago, and St. Vincent are some of the few islands that were given warnings for Hurricane Beryl. It has forced the cancellations of flights in Barbados, where India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy just a few days ago. The storm regained Category 4 strength and had top winds of 130 miles (209 kilometers) per hour.

Team India to land in Delhi on this date

According to the reports from India Today, the Indian team is set to fly out of Barbados on Tuesday (July 2) at 6 pm local time. The team will land in Delhi at around 7:45 pm on Wednesday (July 3). It is believed that all the arrangements have been made by the BCCI through a special flight.

"Good news. The Indian team to finally fly out of Barbados on a special flight arranged by BCCI Tuesday 6pm local time. To land in Delhi around 7.45 pm Wednesday," Vikrant Gupta, India Today's sports journalist posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, the South African team has already flown back to their country through a chartered flight arranged by the Cricket South Africa (CSA).

Airport to open in the next six to twelve hours - Barbados Prime Minister

Looking at all the arrangements, the Prime Minister of Barbados anticipated the airport to open in the next 6-12 hours.

"We hope, and we're working towards later today. I don't want to speak in advance of it, but I've literally been in touch with the airport personnel and they're doing their last checks now and we want to resume normal operations as a matter of urgency," Mia Mottley, Barbados Prime Minister, told PTI.

"There are a number of people who were due to leave yet last night late or today or tomorrow morning. And we want to make sure that we can facilitate those persons, so I would anticipate that within the next six to 12 hours that the airport will be open," she added.

Meanwhile, India lifted its second T20 World Cup trophy after a gap of 17 years. Their first title in this format came in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007. With this trophy, India also ended its long wait for an ICC trophy. The Men in Blue last won an ICC tournament in 2013 when they won the Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni. Since then, they have reached the knockouts several times but were not able to go all the way.
