The legendary god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar revealed how technology came into life in the Indian dressing room at first and notified about the importance of adaptability. There was a time in cricket, where the run-out calls were made by the onfield umpires until the third umpire rule came into the party. It made a huge difference and the era has changed now with the game of cricket starting to use analysts.

All the cricketing nations have hired an analyst who can give a detailed survey of the opponent’s weaknesses and their own strengths in an elaborative and statistical way. This has made the margins of weakness for the cricketers to be very minute and has brought a lot of tactical play into the game of cricket too.

Sachin Tendulkar Stresses On The Importance Of Acceptance And Adaptability

Sachin Tendulkar mentioned that 2002 was the first time he saw a laptop in the Indian dressing room and wondered what it would do in a dressing room. He later realized that the importance of precise calculations which started to take place in team meetings rather than imaginary battles. He added that it is important to accept the new working things to adapt to the needs of the game.

“Technology has changed everything. In 2002, a laptop was brought to the dressing room and I said, ‘laptop kya karega dressing room mein? (What will a laptop do in the dressing room?),’”

“Over a period of time, there was acceptance. Only if there is acceptance, will there be adaptability. Our team meetings started to be more precise. It was not left to individual imaginations.” Sachin Tendulkar told Indian express in an exclusive chat

Sachin Tendulkar revealed the earlier meetings in which they had to remember the mode of dismissals of the batsmen from the particular game which wasn’t precise and probably not happening. However, the inclusion of analysts made sure that the players could view the weakness of the batsmen with data available on the screen. it has been very handy too.

So, the meetings were not like earlier, where we used to say … “yaad hai na Melbourne mein outswing pe out kiya tha (remember back then at Melbourne, how we got them out)”. And after saying that, no one knew who was thinking about that Melbourne day and how we got the batsmen out.”

“Now, we had data on the screen where you could pinpoint and say where the foot of the batsman was. We knew the number of times a particular batsman has been out in a similar fashion.” He added
