Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has been left mighty impressed with the Indian cricket’s depth as two teams remain in play currently. While India’s young guns are taking on Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket, another outfit is featuring in a practice game in England ahead of the Test series against the hosts. Wasim Jaffer stated it is a wonderful time to be an Indian cricket fan.

The Indian team has top-notch players to the extent that the selectors have been successful in conjuring two strong teams simultaneously. With Ravi Shastri in England as Virat Kohli hopes to script a historic Test series win on their shores, Rahul Dravid has earned the coaching job for the Sri Lankan tour. The selectors appointed Shikhar Dhawan to lead the side with a host of young and promising players.

Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer has been in awe of India’s ability to put down 24 players on the field even without the likes of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin in either of them. The 31-Test veteran expressed surprise as Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar are currently representing the County Select XI instead.
Below is Wasim Jaffer’s tweet:
What a time to be an Indian cricket fan! There are 24 players playing for India in an ODI and a FC game right now. And Kohli, Rahane, Ashwin, Ishant, Shami aren't in those 24. The depth is insane!
