The ongoing dispute between Hanuma Vihari and the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association(ACA) has taken a new turn as the state board has revealed shocking information. According to reliable sources, certain players of the team have reported to the ACA that they were forced to sign the supportive letter. That letter demanded the ACA to re-appoint Vihari as the captain under some severe threats that are yet to be disclosed.

It all started after Hanuma Vihari took to social media platform Instagram and pledged to never play for Andhra Pradesh again. He wrote a lengthy note, addressing the issues he has faced, mistreatment from the state board, and the incident which involved him in a verbal spat with a fellow teammate.

Inside Hanuma Vihari’s social media post against ACA

Vihari revealed on his Instagram post that he was deliberately stripped of the captaincy by the state board. And that was because the player he abused – KN Prudhvi Raj, is the son of a politician who influenced ACA’s decision. The most painful part for him was that despite putting his body on the line for Andhra Pradesh, he was being treated like a “no one”.

Hanuma Vihari directed all the blame to ACA, alleging that the board doesn’t want the team to grow. He also stated that he was humiliated and for that, he lost his self-respect, thus he was stepping down from captaincy and never returning.

“This post is about some facts I want to put forward. I was the captain in the first game against Bengal, during that game I shouted at the 17th player and he complained to his dad(who is a politician), his dad in return asked the Association to take action against me.” – Vihari wrote.

“Sad part is association thinks that players have to listen to whatever they say and players are there because of them. I felt humiliated and embarrassed but I’ve not expressed it out until today. I’ve decided that I’ll never play for Andhra where I lost my self-respect.” – Vihari concluded.

What was ACA’s response?

Upon these allegations, the Andhra Cricket Association made a press release, informing that a detailed inquiry will be conducted in the coming days. Yesterday it was disclosed that a transparent trial will take place concerning the complainant and the Complainee.

But in the early hours of Wednesday morning, India Today disclosed several e-mails from the past. One of the emails was about Hanuma Vihari apologizing to ACA in June 2023 while others were about the removal of Vihari from the captaincy role.

It was stated in those emails that Hanuma Vihari indeed has a habit of abusing his players in the state team. It was also reported earlier today that the signed letter from Andhra players in support of Vihari was forcefully done, possibly by the player himself.

“Some players have complained to the Andhra Cricket Association that they were forced to sign under threats. Andhra Cricket Association will thoroughly investigate all the complaints received and report the facts to the BCCI.” – an ACA official told.
