Ahead of the inaugural season of the “Hundred“, each of the eight men’s teams have selected their Wildcard Draft picks to complete their respective line-ups.

With the Wildcard picks being the last opportunity for the men’s teams to secure the final domestic player for the upcoming inaugural season, Oval Invincibles have snapped up Kent cricketer Jordan Cox, Northern Superchargers selected Durham all-rounder Ben Raine while Trent Rockets have picked up seamer Sam Cook.

Blake Cullen (London Spirit), Dillon Pennington (Birmingham Phoenix), Jordan Cox (Oval Invincibles) and Sam Cook (Trent Rockets) have all been rewarded for their brilliant performance in the ongoing Vitality Blast.

Derbyshire’s Leus Pu Plooy returns to the Welsh Fire squad as their Wildcard pick while Kent seamer Fred Klaasen makes his journey to Manchester to play for the Originals.

“There were a few nerves flying around leading up to this because I think every cricketer in the country wanted to be in The Hundred. I thought I’d had a decent Vitality Blast with the ball so I was hopeful of getting a spot,” said Northern Superchargers’ first pick Ben Raine.

“Looking through our team there will be a real Northern feel to it which will be nice. There’s a lot of Durham lads that I’ve played with and Yorkshire lads I’ve played against so there will be a bit of familiarity. It’s a good sign for the amount of talent in the region and I’m very proud to be picked up by the Northern team,” he said.

“I’m excited to get going, it looks like a strong squad and one that can really compete,’ he added.
