"The truth is..." - Andhra cricketers write a letter to ACA on Hanuma Vihari saga

The Andhra Pradesh team wrote an official letter to the Andhra Cricket Association related to the ongoing saga surrounding Hanuma Vihari. They expressed their desire to see the Indian batter leading the team and said that allegations against the senior batter were false.

Andhra Pradesh’s stint in the Ranji Trophy 2024 ended on a disappointing note as they suffered a heart-wrenching four-run defeat to Madhya Pradesh in Indore in the quarter-final of the tournament. While the loss hurt many, a fresh controversy unfolded and it surprised many.

Hanuma Vihari made a shocking revelation about how the Andhra Cricket Association removed him as the captain of the team. He stated how during one game he shouted at the player and the latter complained to his politician dad, who approached the association and asked them to remove the batter as a leader.

Hanuma Vihari also confirmed that he won’t be representing Andhra Pradesh anymore. As he posted the message, Kuntrapakam Narsimha Prudhviraj, whom the India batter was talking about, posted a posted cryptic story on his Instagram account.

He stated that Hanuma Vihari was making false allegations against him and playing the sympathy card. He stated that personal attacks and vulgar language are unacceptable for him. Taking to his Instagram account, he added:
“Hello everyone iam that guy, you guys are searching in that comment box, what ever you guys heard is absolute false, no one is higher then game and my self respect is much more bigger then anything, personal attacks and vulger language is unacceptable in any kind of human platform Everyone in team knows what has happened in that day. Play this sympathy games, however u want.”

With all the fuss going around the Hanuma Vihari, the Andra Pradesh Cricket Team wrote to the state board, saying that the senior batted didn’t approach the player aggressively and that the language that was used was the common thing in the team atmosphere.

The team further pointed out Hanuma Vihari’s success as a captain and stated that they want an Indian batter to captain the team, saying that he has brought the best out of his players. The statement read:

“This is about the ongoing issue about HANUMA VIHARI. A complaint has been issued by a fellow teammate in the Ranji squad that Vihari has used foul language and has approached him aggressively, but the truth is he has not approached him aggressively and this sort of language has been a very common thing in our team atmosphere and it is always in getting the best out of the team, and it has been used since long ages in team dressing rooms.

“Unfortunately one of the team member took it personally. We all the team players including the support staff have been witness to it, and we want vihari to continue as our captain. Since we have no issues with him and he always bought best out of us and as you can see the team has done very well and united in his leadership and also qualified more than 7 times under his leadership. Sir this Ranji season means a lot us as players and we have prepared so well and also started the tournament with a win against Bengal. As Andhra Ranji team players we want vihari to lead our side.”
