Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen feels that the spinner Rashid Khan who is currently in England for the “Hundred Tournament” has been going through a really tough time. The leggie bowled a brilliant spell for the Trent Rockets against Manchester Originals and proved to be the game-changer. However, Kevin Pietersen was worried about the emotional struggles that Rashid Khan has been going through.
Afghanistan is under crisis at the moment after the Taliban has taken over the country including the Presidential palace and it is not a good sign for the families out there. Rashid Khan hasn’t been able to move his family out of Afghanistan as the flight operations at Afghanistan’s capital Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International (HKI) airport haven’t been running efficiently.

Kevin Pietersen Reveals The Chat He Had With Rashid Khan
Kevin Pietersen mentioned on Sky Sports that Rashid Khan has been stressed out with his families in Afghanistan under threat from the Taliban after having a chat with him on the boundary rope in the Hundred tournament. Rashid ideally would be hopeful of bringing his family to some other country soon to keep them safe.
“There’s a lot of things that are happening at home. We had a long chat here on the boundary talking about it and he’s worried: he can’t get his family out of Afghanistan and there’s a lot of things happening for him,” Kevin Pietersen said on Sky Sports.

Kevin Pietersen Lauds Rashid Khan For His Performance Under Pressure
Kevin Pietersen hailed the champion bowler Rashid Khan for keeping his head above even when he is going through immense pressure mentally. Pietersen was overwhelmed with the way Rashid Khan put up a strong performance despite all happening around him and added that the latter’s story to be one of the heartwarming ones.
“For him to turn up and put on a performance like this under the pressure that he is currently under… for him to be able to forget that stuff and navigate his story and continue the momentum that he has – I think that’s probably one of the most heart-warming stories of this Hundred so far,” he added.
