Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was in awe of the way skipper Rohit Sharma batted in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 against England. He stated that there's no fear of failure at all in the opening batter and he has led the team from the front in the ongoing tournament.

India captain Rohit Sharma was one of the key factors behind Team India advancing to the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. The opening batter played a magnificent innings under tough circumstances and made sure that he took his team to the winning total at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Rohit Sharma continued batting with an aggressive approach and bailed his team out of trouble after they lost two quick wickets at the top. He showed great maturity and responsibility and understood the need to stay there at the crease. The batter played some magnificent shots and put the bowlers under pressure.

Rohit Sharma along with Suryakumar Yadav (47) added 73 runs partnership and ensured that the team stayed on track. The India captain set a great platform for the others with his whirlwind knock while opening the innings and made the bowlers look clueless.

Rohit Sharma played a sensational innings of 57 runs off 39 balls in the ongoing semi-final against England. The India captain batted with a strike rate of over 146 and also hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His innings helped India post a target of 171 runs and subsequently win the game by 68 runs.

Navjot Singh Sidhu praised Rohit Sharma for leading from the front in the last two games and pointed out that the India captain has made bowlers tenacious. While calling him "Jahabaz Randhir Ranbhat Yodha", he stated:

"Convincing victories if you look at it, India has gone on a rampage. And the reason for that is, if you look at these wins,  90% of these wins have been given by India's bowling.  Whereas, in the last two matches, the way Rohit Sharma has batted, leading from the front, and has given runs to the bowler,  the bowlers have become more tenacious.

"But, if you look at Nassau County, the bowlers have made matches in all situations. And this is the Jahabaz Randhir Ranbhat Yodha, who has scored quick runs. And his partnership with Suryakumar Yadav, see how there is no fear of failure at all," Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.

"He has made runs everywhere.  He has hit sixes"- Navjot Singh Sidhu on Rohit Sharma

Navjot Singh Sidhu further while lauding Rohit Sharma highlighted how the India captain has scored runs freely and is not afraid to take on the bowlers. He also pointed out how the opening batter had slammed 80% of his team's runs in the beginning against Australia. He elaborated:

"He has made runs everywhere.  He has hit sixes. And once he said he will hit a six if bowler bowls full. And then the way he played against Australia, the way he broke Starc's back, and the way he had 50 runs in 55 runs, 83 runs in 100 runs, and Rohit Sharma made about 80% of the team runs in the beginning."

India has reached the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. They will be taking on South Africa in the summit clash on Saturday (29th June) at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
