Gohar Shah, who bought Sialkot Stallionz and rebranded them as Multan Sultans, has claimed that he has many friends in the English national team, and they will be ready to play the PSL at 1/10th of what they earn in the IPL from the next season of the league.
The Pakistan Super League has undergone a massive number of changes in this edition of the competition. The former six-team franchise tournament will now have a total of eight teams in the competition with the arrival of new teams.
The Sialkot Stallionz were one of the two new franchises, but owner Gohar Shah rebranded it as the Multan Sultans after the former Multan Sultans side was put up for sale and the new owners renamed it as the Rawalpindi Pindiz. The new franchise owner has made a massive claim ahead of the start of the tournament.
Multan Sultans owner Gohar Shah issues massive warning to IPL teams
The PSL season starts two days before the start of the IPL 2026 season, on the 26th of March. Gohar Shah, the new owner of Multan Sultans, who spent a large amount of money to bring in Steven Smith to his side, has made an audacious claim.
He claimed that he is friends with many on the English national side, and if he asks them to, then they will be ready to play at even 1/10th of their prices in any other major franchise tournament. He also claimed that they could not come this time around, as this was the first season.
"I have several great friends in the England National Cricket Team. This time around, teams were already made, so they could not be on board, but if I approach them in the future, then they will play even at a 1/10th price," claimed Gohar Shah.
"If I selfishly claim, they will also leave the IPL to play for us in the PSL," he added, making this the most audacious claim, and only time will tell as to what happens in IPL 2027.

PSL team owner makes massive claim to draw big guns to PSL
The Multan Sultans owner claims it was not only a reflection of his self-belief and ambitions but was also an open challenge for the other franchises within the PSL itself to bring big guns into their squad, since he claims that around 2-3 big guns only wish to play for him.
"Now I have seven overseas, so I am not even considering any rotation plans. However, some franchises are not considering taking players, as they are aware that there are 2-3 big guns who are already waiting to just play for my franchise," said Shah.
Though these claims seemed a bit mindless, it was clear that he wanted to flex his influence. In his concluding statement, he said, "From the next season, you will see a few more names alongside Steve Smith, such big guns, who no other franchise in the world can afford playing at the same time."
Overview of Multan Sultans squad in 2026
