Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram is currently in Australia as a commentator for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between Australia and India. He is working as a commentator in both English and Hindi versions of Star Sports.

Wasim Akram was asked by some of the fans why the Hindi commentary on Star Sports is not as serious as Fox Sports. The fans asked for some more commentary related to cricket rather than personal talks, which is usually the norm in Hindi commentary.

Wasim Akram's fitting response to fans asking for serious commentary

Wasim Akram gave a fitting reply to such comments and claimed that it is just a game and not an ICU ward. He asked the viewers to watch Fox commentary if they did not prefer to watch Hindi commentary.

"We were reading some comments on social media. Some of our Indian fans were saying that Fox commentary is serious while Hindi commentary (in Star Sports) is not. This is a game, not an ICU ward. You can listen to Fox commentary if you don't want to listen this," Akram said on Star Sports.

Wasim Akram was clearly against the fact of doing serious commentary and even asked the fans to keep the situation light. He is also among the most-liked commentators on the panel because of his sense of humor.

Wasim Akram was recently doing commentary with Fox Sports during Pakistan's white-ball series in Australia. He has been a part of the Fox commentary panel for quite a while now.

India in firm control of the Perth Test

Meanwhile, India have tightened its grip on the Perth Test further with some excellent performances with bat and ball. Apart from being bowled out for 150 in the first innings, the Men in Blue have hardly done anything wrong in the match.

In response to India's 150, Australia were bowled out for just 104 in their first innings, thus giving the visitors a lead of 46 runs. Skipper Jasprit Bumrah led from the front as he picked up an excellent five-wicket haul.

Bumrah finished with 5-30 while the other quicks Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana gave him good company. Rana picked up three wickets on his debut and Siraj bowled economically to finish with 2-20.

Indian openers shine in 2nd innings

Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal batted splendidly in the second innings and are looking extremely comfortable at the crease. Both the batters have taken India's lead past the 200-run mark with all 10 wickets in hand.

India were 172-0 at stumps on Day 2 and currently lead by 218 runs. Jaiswal is batting unbeaten on 90 off 193 balls while Rahul is not out on 62 off 153 balls. Both the batters will look to take India's lead further on Day 3 and bat Australia out of the game.
