Rana, who made his ODI and T20I debut during the tour, endured a nightmarish outing as he failed to register double figures in each of his three outings.
The Delhi cricketer was handed his maiden ODI cap in the final 50-over game. He then earned his T20I debut in the second game of the three-match series after eight close contacts of Covid infected Krunal Pandya were deemed unavailable.
Nitish Rana, however, failed to make the most of the opportunities that came his way. While he managed just 7 runs on his ODI debut, he could only register 9 and 6 runs respectively in the two T20Is.
Taking to his official Twitter account, Rana admitted that the tour of Sri Lanka did not go as per plan.
He, however, asserted that criticism of people wouldn’t bog him down and he will work hard and keep moving forward.
“Our social media isn’t just to post out victories but also our failures. This tour didn’t go the way I planned or expected it to go but I’ve learnt so much in my last 3 games,” said Nitish Rana.
”Since the time I’ve held the bat in my hands, I’ve always believed in hard work over luck and this won’t stop me. There are people who’ll say stuff and judge me but I won’t let anything tear me down because I know how much I’ve worked for it & I’ll keep moving forward & keep growing stronger and be back to win big for myself & my team”, the post read.
