The wait is finally over as Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his long-awaited comeback for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in what promises to be a blockbuster IPL 2025 clash on Monday, April 7, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
After being sidelined for nearly four months since the SCG Test against Australia, the pace ace is back and ready to make his mark against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 clash. Having joined the Mumbai Indians camp on Saturday night, Jasprit Bumrah wasted no time and hit the nets on Sunday.

The five-time champions are now banking on their key weapon, Jasprit Bumrah, to help them make a thunderous comeback in the tournament, as they are presently languishing at the eighth spot in the IPL 2025 points table with only one win from their four games in the tournament so far.

On the other hand, RCB's camp is buzzing with strategy as they prepare to face Bumrah’s storm. RCB’s big-hitter Tim David, who knows Bumrah’s deadly skills from the close, having shared the MI dressing room with the pacer last season, has already set the tone. David urged Virat Kohli and Phil Salt to go after Bumrah early and rattle the MI spearhead early.

Tim David said in the pre-match press conference, “Yeah, Bumrah’s pretty widely recognized as the best bowler going around, and that’s the challenge we want to have at RCB. If we’re going to go deep in this tournament, we need to beat the best teams; we need to beat the best players.
So, hopefully, Jasprit Bumrah is bowling the first over tomorrow night, and the first ball goes for 4 or 6 from whoever’s opening the batting for us; that’ll be a statement. It’ll be great to have him back playing in the tournament because the game’s better with him in it.”

I’ll just try and get my toes out of the way: Tim David
David said that he is ready to face top-quality bowlers in the ongoing IPL 2025, but he’ll be careful to move his toes out of the way to avoid Bumrah’s deadly yorkers when Mumbai and Bengaluru are up against each other at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Tim signed off by saying, “I’ll just try and get my toes out of the way; he’s got a pretty lethal yorker. He’s a brilliant bowler, and when you put in big performances against the best teams, against the best players, they’re the best feelings you get as a player. So, you want to be challenged by the best, and I’m looking forward to that.”
Notably, RCB lost only one of their three games so far in the ongoing IPL 2025, and they are currently sitting in the third spot with four points. Now, they would like to return to winning ways after being crushed by the Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in their previous game in the tournament.
