Tim Southee And Tim Seifert Achieve Career-Best Rankings In T20Is

The New Zealand duo of Tim Southee and Tim Seifert achieved their career-best rankings in the ICC T20 Rankings. Their illustrious performance against Pakistan in the recently-concluded series has helped them massively. The New Zealand Cricket Team won the recent series 2-1 against Pakistan.

Seifert has gained 24 slots after scoring 176 runs in the series. After this, he has reached his career-best ranking of 9th in the ICC T20I Batsmen Rankings. Tim Southee, on the other hand, scalped six wickets in the series. After his miraculous performance, he has risen to the 7th position.

Tim Southee And Tim Seifert Rise Through The Ranks In The ICC  T20 Rankings

Seifert was named the player of the series for his exceptional contribution in the series against Pakistan. In the second game of the series, he had smashed 84 runs off just 63 balls. This helped the Kiwis in capturing the T20 series. Prior to this, Seifert had a career-best ranking of 32 that he achieved in August 2020.

Southee, too, achieved a glorious record in the second game of the T20I series as he picked 4 wickets giving away just 21 runs in his four overs. Prior to this, Tim Southee’s career-best position was 10th, which he achieved in November 2019. He has also been in the top 10 rankings in ODIs and Tests.

Pakistan Players Also Gain Through The Ranks After The Series

The Pakistan players have also benefitted from the series as more than a couple of players from the Pakistan National Cricket Team. Mohammad Hafeez, who was Pakistan’s best player in the series, rose to the 33rd position, gaining 14 places. Mohammad Rizwan’s performance in the final T20I also helped him rise t0 158th position.

Pakistan pacer Faheem Ashraf also rose through the ranks as he gained 22 places and moved to the 13th position in the rankings. Shaheen Afridi also gained up 11 ranks to reach a career-best 16th position. Harif Rauf’s five wickets in the series helping him jump 42 spots to the 67th place.
