Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli came up with a heartwarming message for the fans of the franchise after the team got eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He thanked the fans for their love and appreciation throughout the tournament.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced a disappointing 4-wicket loss in the Eliminator of the IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. The loss meant curtains for the Faf du Plessis-led side in the tournament, especially after a dominating comeback.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru didn't start the IPL 2024 on high as they looked down and dusted. The Faf du Plessis-led side won just 1 match in the first 8 matches that they played and it didn't seem that they would qualify for the playoffs, especially after the competition in the league.

However, after that, their turnaround was remarkable as they won the next 6 games on the trot and reached the playoffs of the tournament. They were exceptional with the bat and ball in the tournament in their last 6 league games, as they provided great entertainment to fans.

Virat Kohli was the key architect behind that he oozed his class with the bat and was in the red hot form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He scored runs in almost every game of the tournament and made sure that he took his team to the playoffs from the bottom of the table.

Not only batting, Virat Kohli's intensity on the field was magnificent as well. He lifted the entire team with him as the momentum was clearly in their favor. They went on to win both at home as well as away and even eliminated Chennai Super Kings from the tournament.

After Royal Challengers Bengaluru was eliminated from the tournament, Virat Kohli penned down a heartfelt message for the fans. He wrote: "Thank you once again to all the fans of RCB for making us feel loved and appreciated as always."

Virat Kohli is currently the orange cap holder in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He scored 741 runs from 15 games that he played in the tournament and also slammed one century and five half-centuries in the league. During the season, he also completed 8000 runs in the league, becoming the first batter to achieve the feat.

He is a class act. His game is obviously up there with the greats of the game - Michael Vaughan on Virat Kohli

Michael Vaughan talked about Virat Kohli's retirement while lauding the batter for the brilliant IPL season. He also highlighted how the batter upped his game to stay in touch with the modern era of T20 cricket. Speaking on Cricbuzz, he explained:

"A brilliant season. You talk about retirement with Virat Kohli, I look at this in a way that he can play for long. He is that fit. Unless his mind goes and he's obviously got a young family now. In two-three years' time, everything changes, and he just wants to spend quiet time; I completely get that.

"He is a class act. His game is up there with the greats of the game, but the way that he has gone up a gear to stay afloat in this modern era of T20 cricket is exactly what you need. He's got the game, the mindset, the work ethic that he would have had to put in the nets to work on that sweep shot," he concluded.
