Yuzvendra Chahal, on Friday (November 24), posted a cryptic message on his social media account after the recent setback from the national selectors. The leg-spinner recently failed to make the cut for the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia.
After the Asia Cup and the World Cup heartbreak, the Haryana star would have hoped to play the ongoing series as the selectors named a second-string team. However, there was no place for Yuzvendra Chahal even in the second-string T20 side as the selectors made it more or less clear that they are not looking at him as an option for next year’s T20 World Cup.
Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was preferred ahead of him for the ongoing series. Yuzvendra Chahal’s last T20I assignment for Team India came during the tour of West Indies earlier this year. The leg-spinner failed to make an impact in that series as he managed only 5 wickets in 5 games at an economy of 9.05.
“I understand that only fifteen players can be a part, because it’s a World Cup, where you can’t take 17 or 18,” Yuzvendra Chahal had told Wisden India after being ignored for the World Cup.
“I do feel a little bad, but my motto in life is to move on. I’m used to it now, it’s been three World Cups (laughs). That’s why I came here [at Kent] to play because I want to play cricket somewhere, somehow,” he had added.
Yuzvendra Chahal posts a cryptic message:
Soon after the India squad was announced earlier this week, Yuzvendra Chahal had reacted by posting just a smiling emoji on his X account. And on Friday, he posted a cryptic message on the same platform. He posted a photo with a message that read: “To hold it together when everyone else thinks otherwise, that’s the true strength of a warrior.”

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal gave the selectors and his critics a fitting reply by delivering a sensational spell for Haryana in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He finished with impressive figures of 6 for 26 against Uttarakhand after dismissing the likes of Aditya Tare, Jiwanjot Singh, and Swapnil Singh. Thanks to his spell, Haryana went on to win the game by 6 wickets after bowling out Uttarakhand for a modest total of 207.
