Tom Curran breaks silence on Rishad Hossain's Crybaby allegations during PSL suspension

Tom Curran denied the claims of ‘cried like a child’ by his fellow teammate of Lahore Qalandars, Rishad Hossain. When PSL 2025 was suspended due to the war between India and Pakistan, the tournament was also suspended.

Rishad Hossain claimed that Tom was crying like a child in the dressing room upon finding the airport closed. Rishad also said that New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell was also tense during the tough time and the latter claimed that he wouldn't return to Pakistan.

Tom Curran denies all claims

Now, after PSL has resumed, Tom posted a story on his Instagram and wrote ‘btw promise, I didn’t cry with laughing emoji’.

Curran also wrote that he is glad that the tournament is resuming and will pray for peace between India and Pakistan.

Tom was standing with Pakistani soldiers in his story and was looking happy for the tournament to resume after a week.

His brother, Sam Curran, is playing in the IPL despite the tensions between India and Pakistan on the border. Sam is in the Chennai Super Kings squad in IPL 2025.

Rishad Hossain claims on Tom Curran

When the PSL was suspended, Rishad stated that Tom went to the airport, and when he heard that the airport was closed, he started crying like a child.

Two or three players were handling him after the situation. But after that, Rishad apologized bout his statement about Tom and Mitchell.

"I'm aware that a recent comment I made has caused confusion and has unfortunately been misrepresented in the media, creating a false perception. It lacked full context and unintentionally overstated the emotions involved," Rishad stated.

"I sincerely regret any misunderstanding it may have caused. I've offered an unconditional apology to Daryl Mitchell and Tom," he added.

The same report mentioned that Mitchell vowed not to come back to Pakistan. Mitchell didn’t come back to participate in the remainder of the tournament.

Tom with overseas players of PSL went to the UAE after PSL X was suspended for a week and now most of the players are back in Pakistan to finish up the tournament.

Tom Curran in PSL 2025

Tom has played only three matches in the ongoing PSL. He is representing Lahore Qalandars and has taken only two wickets in three matches, and didn't get any chance to bat in the PSL.

Earlier, Tom had played for Islamabad United in the previous PSL season. Lahore is currently fighting for playoff contention as they won just four matches out of nine and have to win their last match to stay in contention to qualify for the playoffs.
