Travis Head issues new statement on rift in Australian camp after Adelaide Test victory

Travis Head continued his dominance over India with a magnificent hundred in Adelaide as Australia registered a superb win with an all-round performance. Head scored a counter-attacking 140 off 141 balls, which included 17 fours and 4 sixes.

Travis Head was chosen the Player of the Match for his brilliant batting performance. He credited his team's captain Pat Cummins for giving him the confidence to play such a belligerent knock.

Head claimed that he can play the game as he wants and is currently enjoying his batting. He spoke about his game plan in which he tried to put Indian bowlers under pressure and tried to score as many runs as possible.

Travis Head speaks on his Adelaide heroics

After the match, Travis Head spoke about his Player of the Match performance in Adelaide. He claimed to be in good batting form and wants to carry this momentum forward into the upcoming matches. Head also said that thedressing room environment is good and there is no rift.

"Nice to get some runs again. I felt like I moved well last week, I felt like I am in good form. It's a good dressing room to be in, it's a tight one, most people might suggest otherwise. Putting a good performance in, nothing was ever guaranteed, nice momentum and now we have to move on with it," Head said.

Despite scoring a century, Head admitted that the conditions were not easy to bat since the new ball was also moving around. He revealed how he tackled the difficult situations and made it work for himself.

"It was a hot couple of days. Felt like the new ball was going to be tough work. Nice that it was able to come off. I picked the moments really well throughout the innings and we were able to get the ball rolling," he added.

Travis Head credits Pat Cummins for his Adelaide hundred

Travis Head played with an aggressive intent in his whole knock. The left-hander was superb against all the bowlers once he was set. Despite the ball seaming around continuously, he backed himself to play his shots.

He credited his performance to Australia's skipper Pat Cummins and mentioned his role in giving him the confidence to play in such a way. He also spoke about the aggressive intent shown against the second new ball which put Australia in command.

"Pat (Cummins) gives me great confidence. I can see the game and play the game how I want to see it. I felt like there was a good opportunity with that second new ball. Tried to get as many as we could get and put them under pressure," Head revealed.

"Did it with Miller as well, nice to have them (family) here and it's been a nice week," he concluded by mentioning his family who were there in the ground as well.

Australia defeat India in Adelaide; level series 1-1

Meanwhile, Australia defeated India by 10 wickets to make a stunning comeback in the five-match Test series. Pat Cummins and his men had earlier lost by 295 runs in the first Test of the series in Perth.

While Travis Head was the star in Adelaide with his counter-attacking knock, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Scott Boland also played starring roles with the ball. Starc picked up a six-wicket haul in the first innings while Cummins returned to form with a fine five-wicket haul in the second innings.

Scott Boland, who replaced the injured Josh Hazlewood for this match, picked up five wickets in the match and constantly troubled India's top order with his lines and lengths.
