Bangladesh cricket team have created history by clinching their first-ever series against Australia in any format. Bangladesh choked Australia in a modest run-chase of 128 on Friday to register a series win and go up by 3-0 in the five-match T20I rubber. Twitter has been in awe of the Tigers after their remarkable performance.

Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah played a lone hand of 52 off 53 deliveries in the first innings, lifting the hosts to a respectable total in Dhaka. However, Australia’s debutant Nathan Ellis grabbed the spotlight, grabbing a hattrick in his maiden T20I appearance. Even though it was a tricky deck, the tourists fancied a much-needed victory.

Even as Australia lost their captain Matthew Wade early, Ben Mcdermott and Mitchell Marsh kept them in the hunt. However, the game took a massive turn when Mcdermott perished in the 14th over. Mitchell Marsh reached his fifty off 45 deliveries, but the lack of big shots by the new batsmen increased the pressure on him. Marsh departed for 51 in the 18th over, making it more challenging for Australia to reach the target.

Alex Carey and Dan Christian provided a glimmer of hope; however, they fell ten runs short in the end. Mustafizur Rahman was unlucky not to receive the man of the match for his figures of 4-0-9-0. Perhaps, Mitchell Marsh’s adaptability to slow pitches and consistent form with the bat has been Australia’s biggest positive from their last two series losses in T20Is. As a result, Australia also lost their fifth consecutive T20 series. Before this, Bangladesh hadn’t beaten the men in yellow in T20Is at all. They defeated them by 23 runs and five wickets before a ten-run victory in the third T20I.
