Twitter Reacts As Sanju Samson Once Again Perishes Cheaply

For the umpteenth time, Kerala and Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has disappointed with the bat at the international level as he managed a painstaking 13-ball 7 in the second T20I against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

With India boasting of just five specialist batters, the onus was on Sanju Samson to step up to the occasion and showcase his talent to the hilt.

However, it was once again a case of him squandering yet another opportunity as the Kerala cricketer looked all at sea against the Sri Lankan spinners.

On a pitch that is aiding spinners to the hilt, the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Akila Dananjaya had Samson on toast and he was eventually dismissed by the latter.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 17th over when Akila Dananjaya, sensing Sanju Samson’s charge towards him, proceeded to shorten his length significantly.

Samson tried to cover the line but the ball proceeded to hit his front pad and sneak past him to dislodge his stump.

This was Samson’s ninth T20I innings for India and his scores read- 19,6,8,2,23,15,10,27,7.
