The United Arab Emirates captain would wish to get the team off to a good start in the first six overs and provide a platform for the incoming batters to capitalize on.

Their reason is the inexperience in the team's middle order, which is relatively young and will be playing in this particular tournament after a long time.

Waseem would expect good support from the other end by Alishan Sharafu, who showed glimpses of what he is capable of at the top of the order in the tri-series.

The openers will be followed by a middle order that didn't really click in the tri-series and would like to correct that in the first match of the Asia Cup against a strong Indian bowling lineup.

But for that to happen UAE will have to make sure that Asif bats at least in the top five for him to have a good number of deliveries to capitalize on and get his team to an above-par total while batting first.

If the case is the other way around, then Asif will look to make sure that he gets enough time in the middle to pace his innings as the United Arab Emirates pursue the target set by India.

Having said that, other batters will also have to provide support to Asif for the UAE to increase their chances of winning.

Bowlers: Haider Ali, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Rohid Khan, Junaid Siddique

UAE would take confidence from the fact that they were able to restrict the flow of runs in the recently concluded tri-series against Afghanistan and Pakistan at least in the first fifteen overs, and would like to do the same against India.

In fact, the Muhammad Waseem-led side would like to go one step further and not allow the Indian batters to score freely in the final five overs as well, along with picking wickets in the initial stages of the innings.

The onus to accomplish that goal would be on the likes of Haider Ali, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Rohid Khan, and Junaid Siddique.

The United Arab Emirates spinners, especially, will have to do the majority of the heavy lifting for the team, taking into account the conditions that are expected to be spin-friendly for the upcoming match.
