This will be the United Arab Emirates' second T20I outing against the former T20 World Cup champions Pakistan, having faced them previously in the 2016 Asia Cup held in T20I format.

United Arab Emirates has been able to string a few impressive performances in the last couple of years, with with win in one of the three T20Is against New Zealand in 2023, followed by a historic series win against Bangladesh a few months ago.

The Muhammad Waseem-led side would want to carry that form in their first match of the triangular tournament.

United Arab Emirates will open the innings with the captain Muhammad Waseem and Aryansh Sharma in their series opener.

Both batters will look to get the team off to a good start in the first six overs against a strong Pakistani bowling lineup.

The onus will be on the skipper, Waseem, to do the bulk of the scoring, and the batter will need good support from his opening partner, who will also wish to get some runs under his belt.

The home side would want a relatively young batting lineup to get the job done, as far as the batting side of things is concerned.

One of the reasons why the batters will have to take more responsibility and can not leave things to the lower middle order is because of the lack of depth in the United Arab Emirates' batting lineup.
