UAE vs PAK Head-to-Head Records- Key Statistics
UAE and Pakistan have not gone head-to-head against each other a great deal in T20I cricket or in white-ball cricket for that matter, and the upcoming match will only be the second time that the two teams will face each other in this format.
If we talk about the one instance that the UAE and Pakistan took on each other in T20I cricket was during the Asia Cup in 2016, which took place in Bangladesh and was played in T20I format.
Pakistan ended up winning that match comprehensively in the end by seven wickets, but not before sme drama in the initial stages of the chase, something which Pakistan is known for.
The then Shahid Afridi-led side did a pretty good job with the ball by restricting the UAE to a score of less than 140 runs, 129 to be precise, courtesy of some good bowling from the Pakistani fast bowlers.
Having said that, as has been the case with Pakistan, while chasing even a total as modest as 130 runs, the team didn't start as well, and the top three batters were back in the hut with only 17 runs on the board.
It took an unbeaten partnership between Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik to get he team over the line with both batters scoring match-winning half-centuries.
However, a lot of water has flown under the bridge since that particular match, and the fortunes of both teams are somewhat at either side of the spectrum.
The evidence of which is the performance of the two teams, with UAE getting the better of Bangladesh earlier in the year and Pakistan losing to that very team a few months ago, which makes for a mouth-watering contest between bat and ball.
This is the reason why one cannot afford to miss the upcoming UAE vs PAK clash scheduled to be played on Saturday (August 30).
