The Uganda national cricket team entered the record books for an unwanted reason during the match against the West Indies in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The Uganda national cricket team, led by Brian Masaba, equaled the record for the lowest score in the history of the T20 World Cups.

The West Indies registered a comprehensive 134-run victory over Uganda in the 18th match of the World Cup at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Saturday, June 8 (local time). Uganda was bowled out for just 39 runs in 12 overs while chasing a 175-run target in their second match of the tournament.

Rovman Powell acknowledged a slightly flat performance in the first game. The Windies skipper credited Akeal Hosein's outstanding bowling performance and highlighted that he has delivered similar performances against top sides as well.

"We talk about improving. We were a little flat in the first game. We had some rust in the first game. We were 60 percent in the first game. Now, we are operating at 70-80 percent. Credit to Akeal, no wonder why he is the number 3 ranked bowler in this format. He has done the same against top sides as well. He bowled wicket to wicket and did his job. Cricket isn't that easy here and teams need to play well. The Guyanese crowd have been superb," Rovman Powell said.
