Punjab have made a big move ahead of the 2026-27 domestic season as they have roped in experienced Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav as a guest player, as per TOI. Umesh will leave Vidarbha to play for Punjab in the upcoming domestic season.

Umesh Yadav has become the first-ever guest player signed by Punjab. Punjab have been waiting for 34 years to win the Ranji Trophy and are now hoping that Umesh's experience can help the team end the long wait.
The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Amarjit Mehta has confirmed Umesh's move from Vidarbha to Punjab.
Umesh has played 55 tests, 75 ODIs, and 9 T20Is for India. His experience could prove a massive boost for Punjab as they look to succeed in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
