Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table After India vs Bangladesh 1st Test 2024

Team India has crossed a win percentage of 70 after their victory over Bangladesh in the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test. India now has a win percentage of 71.67 and takes the top spot in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table.

Notably, Team India also held the top spot ahead of the 1st India vs Bangladesh Test. Bangladesh has slipped to the 6th spot in the points table after the defeat of the 1st India vs Bangladesh Test. They have a win percentage of 39.29.

India is followed by Australia in the 2nd spot in the ICC World Test Championship points table. Australia has a win percentage of 62.50. They are the defending champions of the WTC 2023-245 cycle.

Sri Lanka, England, and Bangladesh take the 4th, 5th, and 6th spots respectively in the WTC points table, In the 7th spot, South Africa takes a place.

In the last two positions, there is Pakistan and West Indies. Pakistan has faced a big blow after their whitewash against Australia and Bangladesh. Notably, their home Test series defeat against Bangladesh recently put them down in the updated rankings.

India crush Bangladesh by 280 runs

Meanwhile, in the 1st India vs Bangladesh match, India crushed Bangladesh by 280 runs in the 1st Test in Chennai. Batting first in the match, India piled up 376-10 in the 1st innings. Later, they bowled out Bangladesh for just 149.

In the 2nd innings, Team India piled up 287-4 to set up a gigantic chase of 515 for Bangladesh. In the final innings, the hosts bowled out Bangladesh for 234 to win the match by a huge margin of 280 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin scored a century and picked a 6-wicket haul in the match.
