In match no.53 between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Urvil Patel went berserk in the game while chasing the target of 204 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The CSK batter smashed up the joint-fastest fifty in the history of the IPL.
Urvil Patel came into bat after the wicket of Sanju Samson, and from the very first ball, he went out of the ground, as he was smacking at over 500 strike rate. The batter brought his first half-century in just 13 deliveries, joining the team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who smashed it before him against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Urvil Patel goes mad against LSG
Urvil Patel has now smacked 8 sixes and just two fours in the innings so far. He has struck 25 runs each against Avesh Khan and Digvesh Rathi in two consecutive overs, which changed the course of the game for the Men in Yellow, who are chasing a good total of 200 runs. The batter was dropped on 62 runs by Rathi.

But after the drop, he was struggling to score runs and was finally back in the pavilion, scoring 65 runs off 23 deliveries. The batter was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed, with Avesh Khan taking the catch. However, he played his part in the run chase as he put CSK way ahead of the required run rate.
Urvil smashes a new record
This was his first fifty in this season of the IPL. In the four innings he has played, Urvil has a strike rate of 239.13. In the last season, he played just three games and had a strike rate of over 200. He creates an impact on the whole innings and is a game-changer with his aggressive and powerful style of batting.
But the young batter has the range, hitting at the onside region. He also needs to transform his game and not only play at a high pace. He also broke the record of Suresh Raina for the fastest fifty for CSK in the IPL, as the latter had it in 16 balls. Today, Urvil took 3 deliveries fewer to create a new record.
