Usman Khan betrays Emirates Cricket Board to play for Pakistan; sends notice for contract termination

Cricketer Usman Khan has sent a legal notice to the Emirates Cricket Board to terminate his central contract. The wicketkeeper-batsman looks forward to representing the Pakistan national cricket team, as per reports.
Usman Khan is also part of the Pakistan team’s training camp in Kakul for the forthcoming T20I series against New Zealand. Pakistan will lock horns with New Zealand in five T20I games starting April 18. Usman Khan is one of the players who have been shortlisted for the training camp.
As a result, Khan can be part of the Pakistan team during the T20I series against New Zealand. Notably, the right-handed batsman has not played any international games so far for the Pakistan team.

Usman Khan sends notice to Emirates Cricket Board for contract termination
As per reports by CricketPakistan.com, Usman Khan has sent a legal notice to the Emirates Cricket Board to terminate his central contract with the UAE team. He has taken the Pakistan Cricket Board‘s (PCB) help in the matter.
The event arrives after his outstanding performance in the recent PSL 2024. The 29-year-old batter was part of Multan Sultans franchise in the league. He finished as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 430 runs in 7 games.
Usman finished as 2nd highest run-getter in PSL 2024
At a wonderful average of 107+, Usman Khan stormed 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries in PSL 2024. Multan Sultans finished as runners-up in the tournament. After his impeccable show, PCB has shortlisted him for the training camp for the New Zealand T20Is.
Interestingly, an official from Multan Sultans has assured him that he will be part of the PAK vs NZ series and the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June, according to reports. Usman Khan played domestic cricket for Pakistan in 2017. However, he moved to the UAE for better opportunities.

Usman played for Gulf Giants in ILT20 last year
Khan played for Gulf Giants in UAE’s franchise league ILT20 last year. Despite holding a Pakistani passport, he was allowed to play in the league as a local player. Later, he got a central contract to play for the UAE team for the 2024-25 season.
He returned to play as a foreign player in PSL 2024 after gaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Emirates Cricket Board. However, after his wonderful batting show in PSL 2024, PCB has shown interest to feature in the national side.
Interestingly, Usman Khan was expected to return to Dubai after PSL 2024. However, he canceled the plan and is now part of the training camp for the Pakistan team in Kabul. Notably, the central contract termination can ban Khan from participating in franchise T20 leagues in the UAE in the future.
