Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes his international debut

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets the cap number 122 for the India National Cricket Team. He was in bonkers in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL)2026, as he smacked every bowler out of the park while batting for Rajasthan Royals (RR). The Southpaw got his cap from the team's vice-captain Tilak Varma. Vaibhav was seen emotional after getting the cap.

Vaibhav broke some records in the IPL as he became the youngest player to win the Orange Cap, as he finished as the leading run-getter with 776 runs in the tournament, with one hundred and five half-centuries, and also with a blistering strike rate over 237. He also played an amazing innings in the List A Tri-nation series final, scoring 94 off 29 balls.

"I feel that he completely deserves to be in the squad"- Shreyas Iyer after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's debut

Coming to the match, India won the toss and opted to bat first. India made one change as Vaibhav came in for Sanju Samson. The latter has been in tough form in the last few innings, and thus the Men in Blue have gone away looking into the most in-form batter in T20 cricket at present.

Shreyas Iyer, the team India captain, heap praised Sooryavanshi. The skipper, during the toss, stated that he has been in amazing form and he deserves to be in the squad, with the way he has been batting in the nets and takes on the bowlers as well.

Shreyas Iyer in the toss said, "We'll bat first again. We've got one change. Vaibhav comes in for Sanju. Absolutely you've seen him in last few months, the way he's been batting. Not really. I feel that he completely deserves to be in the squad."

"He's someone who doesn't take pressure at all. Has an unflinching nature. He's very well aware of what's going to come in these coming matches. The way he bats in the nets and takes on the bowlers, shows what kind of player he is. You see the competition, it's game after game - the amount of talent India produces is pleasing to the eye. Keeps us on the toes. Pressure is a privilege I feel."
