Vaibhav Suryavanshi achieved something never seen before in the game of cricket on Tuesday, December 2. Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history by becoming the first teenager in the world to smash three T20 centuries at just 14 years old, and that too in just 17 innings.

The young left-hander from Samastipur delivered a breathtaking performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 clash between Bihar and Maharashtra. He scored his first century of the tournament in only his fifth match for Bihar in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.

The 14-year-old rising star, who will soon fly to Dubai to represent India in the U19 Asia Cup starting December 12, reached his hundred in just 58 balls, blasting 7 fours and 7 sixes. Vaibhav completed his century in perfect style, hitting a powerful six off the very first ball of the 20th over bowled by Arshin Kulkarni at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

With this ton, Vaibhav is now the first teenager ever to score three T20 centuries before turning 15. Before him, only two players—Vaibhav’s U19 teammate Ayush Mhatre and France’s Gustav Mackeon—had managed two T20 hundreds before turning 20. But Vaibhav has pushed the bar much higher with three, and that too in just 17 innings.

What makes Vaibhav’s achievement even more special is that all three tons came for three different teams. Earlier this year in IPL 2025, he shocked everyone by hitting a 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans, making him the fastest Indian to reach an IPL hundred.

Last month, the left-handed opener got his first India A cap in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Qatar, and he made the mark with a 32-ball century against UAE in Doha. Vaibhav smashed a mind-blowing 144 off just 42 balls, narrowly missing Chris Gayle’s famous 175.

His knock included 15 sixes and 11 fours, with 134 of his runs coming in boundaries. With this innings, Vaibhav also became the only player in the world to score two T20 hundreds in 35 balls or fewer. And now his latest innings has taken things to a whole new level.

Vaibhav, who is only 14 years and 250 days old, stayed unbeaten on 108 off 60 deliveries and helped Bihar post a strong total of 176 for the loss of just three wickets on the board against Maharashtra. The young opener stitched an important 75-run stand for the fourth wicket with Ayush Loharuka.

Loharuka played a smart supporting role and stayed unbeaten on 25 runs from 17 balls, helping Bihar finish with a solid total. For Maharashtra, Arshin, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Vicky Ostwal each managed to pick up one wicket against Bihar.

This knock was especially important for Vaibhav because his tournament had not begun well. He had scored only 14 runs against Chandigarh on November 26, followed by 13 against Madhya Pradesh on November 28, and just 5 runs against Jammu & Kashmir on November 30.
