India surprisingly won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah shared the new ball, but they were unable to get any breakthroughs and reached the score of 38 in 4 overs.
Then, Suryakumar Yadav introduced Varun Chakravarthy with the hope for an opening breakthrough, and the mystery spinner repaid the faith of his skipper.
On the very first ball of the over, Varun Chakravarthy managed to rattle the stumps of Reeza Hendricks for 8 runs off 10 balls.
Chakravarthy started off the over with a googly on length, and Reeza Hendricks stayed back in the crease to pull it away. However, he was beaten as the ball skidded and rattled the stumps.
