Venkatesh Prasad Gets Offended On Fan's Remarks Of India Becoming The New Chokers In World Cricket

Former Indian Pacer Venkatesh Prasad lashed out at a fan on the Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) when about if the Men in Blues have turned out to become the new chokers of World Cricket after Rohit Sharma’s side squandered 2 opportunities to end their Trophy less drought since 2013.
It was under the captaincy of MS Dhoni that team India won 3 major titles from 2007-2013. The inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa was their first from the lot. 4 years later during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, MS Dhoni smacked the winning six to clinch a first-ever WC title in 24 years.
2 years later in 2013, India went on to defeat hosts England in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 in a rain-marred 20-over match. After the Champions Trophy triumph, it seems as if the Indian team has lost its rhythm, confidence, and nerves, especially in the crunch phases of the tournament like the finals or the semi-finals.
In 2014, India ended up on the losing side against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 WC final. The next year hosts Australia would beat the reigning champions in the CWC 2015 semi-final. In 2016, the West Indies led by Darren Sammy kicked out India from the T20 WC semi-final before losing to Pakistan in their Champions Trophy title defense in 2017.
The list goes on. Another Semi-final loss in 2019 WC to the hands of New Zealand was followed by a WTC Finale loss against the same opponents in 2021 and India also suffered a group-stage exit from that year’s T20 WC.
In 2022, Jos Buttler’s England defeated the Indians by 10 wickets in the T20 WC semi-final. However, in 2023, hopes were renewed of finally ending a trophy drought as the WTC Final and Cricket World Cup at home loomed large.
It would have been a great result not just for Rohit Sharma but for every Indian overall but India first lost in the WTC final against Australia and in November, the Men in Blue again lost to the same opponents led by Pat Cummins.
It sparked questions like the fan on X asked Venkatesh Prasad if the Indian team has become the new chokers of World Cricket. A furious Venkatesh Prasad would remind the fan about India’s performance in Australia, winning 2 separate Test series in 2018/19 and in 2020/21.
Chokers not, we have won 2 Test series against Australia in Australia, the last one in 2020-21 after 36 all ou, I consider as one of India’s greatest especially with more than half first choice players missing. But there is certainly something not right about not winning any… https://t.co/ZY3HY3ODE7

Venkatesh Prasad Says Something Is Wrong Internally
Venkatesh Prasad also highlighted the fact that although team India’s performance has been decent, yet something is going wrong with the team.
“Chokers not, we have won 2 Test series against Australia in Australia, the last one in 2020-21 after 36 all out, I consider as one of India’s greatest especially with more than half first choice players missing. But there is certainly something not right about not winning any major tournament in 11 years.” – said Venkatesh Prasad.
