The Mumbai Cricket Association has named Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Arjun Tendulkar among the 100 probable players for a camp ahead of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mumbai had a dismal show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 and they were knocked out of the tournament with just one win in five games. To make their condition worse, the coach Amit Pagnis stepped down from his position.

Senior players like Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Adithya Tare have all been named to the squad along with youngsters like  Yashashvi Jaiswal, Arjun Tendulkar, and Shivam Dube. The BCCI has decided to conduct Vijay Hazare Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy, and Senior Women’s 50 over tournament while opting out for Ranji Trophy due to the difficulties associated with scheduling during the pandemic times.
