Vijay Shankar Bought By Chennai Super Kings For INR 1.20 crore at IPL Auction 2025:

Out-of-favour India allrounder Vijay Shankar has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 30 lakh. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pacer, Vijay has played for four teams in the IPL so far.
His journey in the competition began with Chennai Super Kings in 2014. In his first season, he played just one game. He did not play any games in the IPL in 2015 and 2016 before playing four games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017.
In 2018, he represented the Delhi Capitals. In his only season with the Delhi-based outfit, Vijay Shankar played 13 games and scored 212 runs with the help of a fifty. In the next three seasons, he once again played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Ahead of the 2022 season, he was signed up by Gujarat Titans. In IPL 2022, Shankar played 4 games before playing 14 games in 2023. In those 14 games, he scored 301 runs with the help of three half-centuries. It is still his most prolific season with the bat in the IPL. In 2024, the Tamil Nadu ace played 7 games and scored only 83 runs.

Chennai Super Kings have signed up Vijay Shankar for the upcoming season of the IPL. Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans were the only teams to bid for the allrounder. In the end, the Super Kings made the highest bid at INR 1.20 crore.
