But surprisingly, there is one person in the Rajasthan Royals setup who says he manages to get Vaibhav out regularly in the nets, and he is their batting coach, Vikram Rathour. The former India batting coach claimed that he is probably the only man in the camp who dismisses Vaibhav often in practice.
Sunil Gavaskar asked Rathour during a live broadcast if anyone in the team could actually stop the teenager while batting. The RR batting coach smiled and said that he gets him out with sidearm throwdowns in the nets quite regularly. But the coach did not reveal his secret.
He kept everyone guessing and refused to explain how exactly he troubles the youngster during practice. Vikram Rathour said, “It's only me, I think. I throw it with my stick, and I actually get him out quite often. I'm not telling you why.”

However, Rathour admitted that coaching Vaibhav is not very complicated because the teenager is batting in an unbelievable rhythm. The experienced coach explained that when a batter is in such great touch, sometimes the best thing for a coach is to simply stay quiet and let the player enjoy himself.
“To be honest, the way he is batting, as a coach, one of the key things that I’ve learned is that sometimes it’s better to say nothing. And when someone is batting like that, it’s the perfect flow. So, I’m not telling him anything. Just enjoy your batting, look to bat well, and that’s it.”
The coach believes Vaibhav’s biggest strength is his mindset. The youngster is not scared of any bowler and keeps looking for scoring opportunities all the time. He also works very hard behind the scenes and quickly learns from every situation.

Rathour feels that whenever teams try a new plan against him, Vaibhav adjusts very quickly and finds another way to attack, and that’s why bowlers have struggled to stop him this season.
He added, “His biggest strength is to work on his game. He’s almost a genius, the way he is batting at the moment. But the way he thinks his cricket is well is a big strength. Whatever people are trying, he is responding to it. Takes everything well. He practices it. You can see that he has all the shots. So far, he has brilliantly responded to everything he’s been through. Let’s see how far he goes.”
