India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has added yet another feather to his already illustrious cap as he has become the first-ever batsman to breach Mount.6000 in Indian Premier League history [IPL].

The charismatic batsman achieved the feat during the ongoing encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The moment arrived during the 4th ball of the 13th over when Virat Kohli walked across his stumps and glanced a low full-toss bowled by Chris Morris towards the fine-leg boundary.

Kohli’s 6000th run has come in his 188th IPL innings. The right-hander also happens to be the first batsman to rack up in excess of 5000 IPL runs. He achieved that feat against Mumbai Indians during the 2019 edition of the IPL.

Virat Kohli breached Mount.5000 in his 157th innings and he has taken 31 innings to achieve the same.

Virat had struggled for timing during the initial part of his innings, just like he had done in Chennai, but with his fellow opening partner Devdutt Padikkal going great guns at the other end, the right-hander decided to play second fiddle.

But once he settled at the crease,  Kohli unleashed his full array of strokes, none better than the inside-out six off Chris Morris.
