India superstar Virat Kohli has broken his silence on the recent reports regarding his earning from Instagram. While not in action right now, Virat Kohli has been trending all over the internet since Friday (August 11) after the report came out.
Hopper HQ, a platform that specializes in social media planning and scheduling, recently claimed that Virat Kohli earned approximately Rs 11.45 crore from a single sponsored post. According to the report, the Indian cricket star was at the top of the earnings leaderboards among Indian celebrities.
Among sporting personalities, he was just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in terms of earning from sponsored posts on Instagram. The report also showed Virat Kohli as the sole Indian representative in the global top 20 list of Instagram influencers as far as earning from sponsored posts was concerned.
The former India skipper does have a formidable presence on social media. Arguably the best all-format player of this generation, Virat Kohli is definitely the most popular cricketer in the world at present, and his social media following proves it. He has a following of over 256 million on Instagram, he has 57.2 million and 51 million followers on X and Facebook respectively.

Virat Kohli, on Saturday, took to X to react to the news of his earning from Instagram. The batting star started by expressing his gratefulness before stating that the news of his social media earnings is not true.

Virat Kohli was last seen in action during the ODI series against West Indies earlier this month. The right-handed batsman was a part of the first match but did not come out to bat before being rested for the last two games. Before that, he had scored a fifty and a century in the Test series against the same opposition.
The former India skipper will be seen in action again next month when Team India starts their campaign in Asia Cup on September 2 against arch-rivals Pakistan.
